What is available now?

  • Working today

Working today means the expressive face has been demonstrated on a real Oneira device.

  • Connected beta

Connected beta features require the Oneira app, internet access, a compatible service, and permissions you approve. They can change and may not work with every service.

What you need

Connected beta features need the Oneira app, internet access, a supported service, and permissions you approve. A separate account or fee may also be required.

The short answer

A useful portable agent device makes the start, destination, and consequence of a request visible. Oneira keeps the physical layer expressive and routes optional intelligence through the app.

Oneira Dream Big+

A local AI powerhouse in a star.

Small enough to look playful. Built with a dual AI chip, OLED screen, and 1K camera, plus optional connected experiences you control.

Each $80 Founding Unit includes one Oneira device with a dual AI chip, OLED screen, and 1K camera, plus the selected color and included eye set. The 1K camera is included; its final production module and other non-material production details may change before fulfillment. Optional connected services, provider accounts, usage, and third-party fees are separate.

On-device

On-device reactions

Oneira's expressive reactions run on the device, so its face can respond without relying on a cloud request.

Connected beta

Optional connected services

Optional compatible connected services can extend Oneira when you choose. Setup, permissions, internet access, provider terms, and usage costs remain separate. Connected experiences work only with compatible services the owner deliberately configures. Oneira does not connect automatically to every service.

Category definition

Portable does not have to mean autonomous everywhere.

Some AI devices try to replace apps with a broad assistant. Others passively collect context. A portable agent interface can take a smaller path: begin a defined request away from the keyboard and show the result clearly.

That narrower job is easier to explain, permission, and trust.

Evaluation

Ask five questions before buying the demo.

What works without the cloud? What activates the microphone or camera? Where does the agent run? Which accounts can it change? What recurring fees keep the useful features alive?

A product page should answer those questions beside the feature, not after checkout.

Oneira's role

A character object first. A chosen tool second.

Oneira's face and motion reactions create a useful product even before an agent request begins. Through the app, a compatible agent or connected tool can handle an intentional task.

The specific agent is not bundled as an invisible promise. Its provider, hosting, permissions, reliability, and fees remain separate choices.

Portable agent guide / preserve the pause before a task begins

The best portable AI agent device gives a request a physical beginning and a visible end.

A portable AI agent device is not automatically a smaller laptop or a replacement for a phone. Its strongest role is to make one short, intentional interaction easier: the owner begins a bounded request, sees a concise state or result, and returns to the task at hand. Oneira starts from a more grounded current layer—an on-device motion-reactive character—then offers real Connected beta links to optional compatible connected tools and services through the app. That division keeps a little hardware companion from pretending it is a universal autonomous computer.

Portability does not remove the need for setup, permissions, or review. The app is where an owner selects a compatible service and decides which account and data scope are appropriate. Network conditions, credentials, support, and compatible behavior can change. Sight is another Connected beta path, only for an owner-triggered visual request. Everyone present must agree before an owner-triggered Sight capture. Translation and creator assistance stay in development, so a purchase should be based on current expression and clearly available connected flows.

Four questions for a portable agent-device purchase

Questions, answered

The details that decide a purchase.

What is a portable AI agent device?+

It is a carryable physical interface that can start, display, or coordinate an AI-agent request. The agent may run on the device, phone, local computer, or cloud depending on the product.

Is Oneira a phone replacement?+

No. Keep a phone for general apps, communication, navigation, emergencies, and account management. Oneira is a focused companion and connected interface.

Does the agent run on Oneira?+

The core expression system runs on-device. Compatible agents and connected tools are configured and routed through the app to their separate runtime.

What is the biggest risk with portable agents?+

A vague permission boundary. Buyers should know what activates capture, which system receives data, what the agent can change, and how to revoke access.

The honest boundary

Oneira's focused helpers have narrow, visible limits. Broader research, coding, and approved-workspace actions remain in development.

Is a physical initiation genuinely better than opening an app?

A dedicated object helps when the request is short, repeatable, and easy to recognize: start a known check, ask for a compact status, or review a small result. If you need documents, long prompts, files, detailed controls, or complex exception handling, the larger screen remains the better interface.

  • 02

What continues to work without a connected request?

Separate the current product from the optional service layer. Oneira's animated motion response runs on-device and gives the object value without a connected request. Optional compatible connected tools and services need app support, setup, internet access, and their own service terms.

  • 03

How does the device show state and uncertainty?

An agent interface should distinguish waiting, routing, working, blocked, failed, and completed states rather than collapsing them into a cheerful success signal. Small hardware can show concise feedback, while the app should make destination, output, errors, logs, and retry or cancellation choices visible enough for real review.

  • 04

What must remain under deliberate human control?

Choose a device only if its interaction can preserve confirmation for consequential actions. Sending, publishing, spending, deleting, changing accounts, or disclosing sensitive data needs a clear review point. The compact form should make intent more legible, not become a shortcut around consent, policy, or good operational judgment.

  • Good fit

    Good fit if…

    • You want a focused physical cue for a small, configured agent task, plus concise visible feedback.
    • You like on-device character expression and do not expect the device to replace a general computer.
    • You can keep agent permissions narrow and use the app for setup, logs, and consequential review.

    Choose differently

    Choose something else if…

    • Choose a smartphone if broad applications, text entry, maps, communication, and full-screen review are central.
    • Choose a computer-based agent setup if tools may affect code, files, financial data, or many external systems.
    • Wait if creator assistance or translation is the workflow you need, because those Oneira capabilities remain in development.
