What is available now?

  • Connected beta

Connected beta features require the Oneira app, internet access, a compatible service, and permissions you approve. They can change and may not work with every service.

The short answer

An AI camera feature should reveal when capture starts, who processes the frame, what is retained, and what the output cannot safely decide. Oneira Sight begins with one deliberate frame.

Oneira Dream Big+

A local AI powerhouse in a star.

Small enough to look playful. Built with a dual AI chip, OLED screen, and 1K camera, plus optional connected experiences you control.

Each $80 Founding Unit includes one Oneira device with a dual AI chip, OLED screen, and 1K camera, plus the selected color and included eye set. The 1K camera is included; its final production module and other non-material production details may change before fulfillment. Optional connected services, provider accounts, usage, and third-party fees are separate.

On-device

On-device reactions

Oneira's expressive reactions run on the device, so its face can respond without relying on a cloud request.

Optional connected services

Optional compatible connected services can extend Oneira when you choose. Setup, permissions, internet access, provider terms, and usage costs remain separate. Connected experiences work only with compatible services the owner deliberately configures. Oneira does not connect automatically to every service.

Activation

No background video. No invisible life log.

Oneira Sight is not a continuous recording feature. The owner deliberately points and captures one frame, then chooses notice, read, or help for a short reply.

That architecture reduces collection but does not remove responsibility. A single frame can still reveal a face, address, document, screen, or private space.

Processing

No JML retention is not the same as no processing.

JML does not store the Sight frame or reply in this release, but Sight still uses connected processing. The active service's terms and data-handling rules apply.

The app should identify the destination so an owner can make a real decision before capture.

Safe scope

A short description is not a high-stakes judgment.

AI vision can be wrong because of lighting, framing, legibility, model limits, or ambiguity. Do not use Sight for emergencies, medical or legal decisions, identity claims, access control, or safety-critical instructions.

Use authoritative sources and qualified people whenever the consequence matters.

AI camera privacy / consent before capture

The safest AI camera is one whose capture rule is easy to explain.

Camera privacy is less about a reassuring adjective and more about the moments when a device can take, transmit, retain, or reuse an image. Oneira Sight is designed as Connected beta visual help, not an ambient camera: an owner deliberately initiates one frame and chooses notice, read, or help. The device does not passively record the room in the background. That narrow flow helps make the start of a connected request visible to the person holding it.

Consent is still essential. Everyone present must agree before an owner-triggered Sight capture. This applies even for a quick request. JML does not store the Sight frame or reply in this release. The connected request remains subject to the active service's controls, so users should avoid private documents, credentials, sensitive locations, or any person who has not agreed. Connected responses can also be wrong, which makes independent checking important for consequential details.

Decision framework

A practical privacy test for any visual AI device

  1. 01

    Who starts the capture?

Prefer a flow where the owner takes an unmistakable action before an image exists. Oneira’s model is owner-triggered and single-frame, which differs from a continuous camera, automatic scene capture, or a product that silently gathers context while idle.

  2. 02

    Who can be in frame?

A photo of an object can still expose faces, screens, addresses, or a private setting. Everyone present must agree before an owner-triggered Sight capture. Treat the rule as a real social boundary, not a box to overlook when a request feels brief.

Questions, answered

The details that decide a purchase.

Does Oneira record video?+

No background video feature is advertised. Sight processes one owner-triggered frame.

Does JML store my Sight image?+

JML does not store the frame or reply in this release. The connected request remains subject to the active service's policy.

Can I photograph people without asking?+

No. Everyone present must agree before an owner-triggered Sight capture. Local law and venue rules can impose additional requirements.

Can Sight make safety or identity decisions?+

No. Sight is not an emergency, medical, legal, identity, access-control, or safety system. AI output can be wrong and important details must be independently verified.

The honest boundary

Oneira's focused helpers have narrow, visible limits. Broader research, coding, and approved-workspace actions remain in development.

  • 03

    Where does the image go?

Review the connected boundary before use: a Connected beta Sight request uses an optional connected service. JML does not store the frame or reply in this release, while the active service's controls and policy remain relevant.

  • 04

    What decision follows?

Do not let a concise reply become automatic evidence. Lighting, framing, service limits, and ambiguity affect results. Avoid medical, legal, identity, emergency, access-control, and safety-critical decisions, and verify important text or objects independently.

  • Good fit

    Good fit if…

    • You want a visual AI interaction that starts with a deliberate action instead of a passive camera state.
    • You can make a clear rule part of every request: Everyone present must agree before an owner-triggered Sight capture. You also avoid sensitive material before making a connected request.
    • You appreciate a product that distinguishes device expression from cloud-processed visual help.

    Choose differently

    Choose something else if…

    • Choose an offline camera workflow if connected processing is not acceptable for your images.
    • Choose a dedicated document scanner for repeatable archive-quality capture and document management.
    • Choose a security camera only when continuous monitoring is appropriate, lawful, disclosed, and genuinely required.
