On-device reactions
Oneira's expressive reactions run on the device, so its face can respond without relying on a cloud request.

Oneira and rabbit r1 are pocket AI devices with different jobs. Compare size philosophy, connectivity, cameras, agents, price, and current features.
Product status
Working today means the expressive face has been demonstrated on a real Oneira device.
Connected beta features require the Oneira app, internet access, a compatible service, and permissions you approve. They can change and may not work with every service.
The short answer

Oneira Dream Big+
Small enough to look playful. Built with a dual AI chip, OLED screen, and 1K camera, plus optional connected experiences you control.
Each $80 Founding Unit includes one Oneira device with a dual AI chip, OLED screen, and 1K camera, plus the selected color and included eye set. The 1K camera is included; its final production module and other non-material production details may change before fulfillment. Optional connected services, provider accounts, usage, and third-party fees are separate.

Inspect the hardwareOptional compatible connected services can extend Oneira when you choose. Setup, permissions, internet access, provider terms, and usage costs remain separate. Connected experiences work only with compatible services the owner deliberately configures. Oneira does not connect automatically to every service.
See compatible connectionsCompatible connected tools are optional and owner-configured. Nothing is preconfigured, and universal compatibility is not promised.

Understand the agent pathDifferent centers
Oneira begins with an animated character whose motion reactions run on-device. Connected intelligence is optional and app-mediated.
Rabbit describes r1 as a standalone personal AI assistant. Its larger screen, rabbitOS cards, Wi-Fi, optional cellular data, voice recorder, music, vision, and agent features aim at a broader assistant role.
Privacy
Oneira Sight uses one deliberate frame and three constrained modes. JML does not store the frame or reply in this release, while connected processing still applies.
Rabbit states that r1 has no always-listening mode, the microphone records after a push-to-talk action, and the rotating camera can physically block its lens. Review each company's current policy before purchase.
Decision
Choose r1 if standalone networking, a larger interface, recording, and rabbitOS services matter most. Choose Oneira if you want the smaller expressive object, an app-controlled connection boundary, and no attempt to replace your phone.
Do not choose either product based only on future features.
Comparison framework / choose the job before the spec sheet
Oneira and rabbit r1 make more sense as different interaction models than as a checklist contest. Oneira's current foundation is a motion-reactive character that responds on-device when it is carried, tilted, moved, or set down. Its optional connected tools and services are deliberately separate Connected beta flows started through the Oneira app. The existing comparison page documents rabbit r1's published standalone-assistant position; use those current first-party details rather than assuming that a shared "AI device" label makes the products interchangeable.
A durable purchase decision also separates what works now from what may evolve. For Oneira, translation and creator assistance remain in development, so neither should decide this comparison today. Sight is a connected, owner-triggered single-frame request, not an ambient camera feature. Everyone present must agree before an owner-triggered Sight capture. Compare the privacy model, the device you want to carry, the services you are willing to configure, and the attention pattern you prefer before treating screen size or a future feature as the answer.

Preorder a Founding Unit · $80Oneira's focused helpers have narrow, visible limits. Broader research, coding, and approved-workspace actions remain in development.
Choose based on the idle experience you actually want to live with. Oneira is designed to offer on-device expression shaped by movement, while rabbit r1's published position is a broader standalone assistant interface. A device can be valuable for either role, but one should not be judged as a failed version of the other.
Read the current comparison table and each maker's current documentation for networking, interface, and service details. Oneira uses the app as the visible routing and permission layer for Connected beta requests. If independent connectivity and a larger assistant-oriented interface are decisive, evaluate that requirement directly instead of assuming every pocket device meets it.
Oneira Sight starts from one owner-triggered frame and uses a chosen visual mode. Everyone present must agree before an owner-triggered Sight capture. It is not background recording or identity recognition. Compare that intentional visual boundary with the other product's current camera and microphone controls, published privacy policy, and the environments in which you expect to use it.
Connected products depend on software, accounts, network access, service behavior, and support that can change after a hardware purchase. Oneira's optional compatible connected tools and services require setup and do not promise universal compatibility. Do not buy either device for an unverified future workflow.
